Since joining chambers in 2009, Christine has established a substantial civil practice, specialising in consumer credit; personal injury and credit hire matters for both Claimants and Defendants. Respected and renowned for her meticulous preparation, attention to detail and extensive knowledge of civil litigation, she is particularly skilled in MOJ Portal matters and the fixed costs regime originally introduced by the Jackson reforms and its extended application.
Christine is an experienced and robust advocate and accepts instructions in a wide range of civil and commercial disputes. Following the Plevin judgment and the resulting litigation on unfair relationships which has followed, Christine has achieved consistent successful outcomes for High Street lenders on actions brought against them for undisclosed commission.
At present, Christine is also a senior member of the Halcyon Chambers Motor Finance Team representing motor finance lenders facing claims based on alleged secret commissions – the new and rapidly expanding area of consumer credit litigation. Christine is an indispensable part of Halcyon’s dedicated team at the forefront of motor finance cases.
Known for her work ethic and professionalism, Christine accepts both privately and publicly funded instructions throughout England and Wales and is pleased to accept instructions on a Direct Access basis.
