Prior to joining chambers, Emma acted as a county court advocate for the country’s leading firm of solicitor’s agents. Her role as an advocate provided her with ample experience in a number of hearings in different areas of law.
Emma successfully completed her pupillage under the supervision of Suzanne Hodgkiss in October 2019. She continues to accept instructions in all aspects of family law including, but not limited to, financial remedy cases, TOTLATA applications, domestic abuse matters and private law children proceedings. Emma always acts robustly to secure the best outcome for her client. Emma also accepts instructions in relation to civil matters such as credit hire.
HB v JS – Within the first two weeks of Emma’s second six, she was instructed to represent a vulnerable mother in a matter before a Judge of the High Court. The matter involved longstanding private law children proceedings whereby the children had been made ward of courts after their recovery from Pakistan was sought.
AR v JT – Emma represented the respondent in acrimonious private law children proceedings which involved international children abduction to a non-Hague Convention country.
Outside of chambers, Emma is keen to raise money for good causes and challenges herself in the process most recently completing the Birmingham Half Marathon in October 2018. Emma has also run the London Marathon in 2015.
