Lydia is currently undertaking pupillage, gaining experience across family, immigration, and civil law under the supervision of Muhammad Ul-Haq. She will begin her second six in April 2026.

She has a background in public law and immigration, having worked as a Public Law Senior Caseworker in a legal aid firm handling judicial review cases related to adult and children’s community care, immigration, and housing law. As a Refugee and Migrant Caseworker at the Solihull based charity Entraide Mutual Aid, Lydia provided direct support and advocacy to asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants.

Prior to pupillage, Lydia also gained valuable court experience working as a Trainee Legal Advisor in Derby and Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, sitting in crime.

Lydia received her undergraduate degree in International History and Politics at the University of Law. She was awarded the Beresford Dissertation Prize for her undergraduate dissertation titled ‘Necropolitics and Forced Repatriation of Rwandan Refugees’. She graduated from the MA Law (Conversion) course at the University of Law, achieving the highest national mark.
